Capacitive keypads and switches utilise individual sensors that generate electric fields, functioning like capacitor plates. These fields penetrate various materials, with glass being the most commonly used. When a user makes contact with the field, the capacitance shifts, triggering a signal. Beyond buttons, this technology also allows for the integration of a capacitive touchpad.
Unlike touchscreen systems, where controls are graphically displayed on a monitor, this technology features clearly defined, physically present buttons. We design and manufacture the electronics to meet any requirement – from backlit individual switches to fully customised keypads behind glass.
